Devlog 3


Hello everyone, and welcome to our team’s latest devlog for our project “I’m Bouncing Ball”. During the last devlog, we presented the first demo for the game, in which we showed for the first time our game’s mechanic. During the last weeks we have made some adjustments and added some new elements to the game. The following are the changes made to last week’s devlog: 

  • New Start Menu: The game no longer starts directly in the first level, now there’s a functional main menu with the option to start playing and closing the game. 

  • New Victory/level clear menu: In this version of the game, when you defeat the enemy in the first level, you are greeted by a victory screen. 
  • Fixed the issue where the character would start the level on the wrong sprite. Before, the character spawned as if it was finishing his hit animation, now it properly starts as the idle frame. 
  • Minor movement improvement: The character used to be able to jump indefinitely, now it is restricted to one jump before having to land. 


Although these aren’t major changes to the game, we are currently working on the following steps:

  • Proper animations for the main character, including jumping, running and other animations that would be needed in the game
  • Basic movement AI for the enemy
  • New stages for the game
