Hello! We are excited to present the first devlog of our game project in Godot Engine. Allow Los Patos Lindos to introduce you to our exciting creation: "I'm Bouncing Ball."

Game Concept:

"I'm Bouncing Ball" is a 2D dungeon crawler-style game. In this game, players will face challenging enemies, each located on their own level. These enemies, or "Guardians," each have their own strengths and weaknesses, to which the player must adapt in order to defeat them.

Story:

The story of "I'm Bouncing Ball" takes place in the near future, where a technological religion known as the "Cosmic Sphere" has emerged to claim dominion over the world. This belief system advances rapidly, seizing cities and territories with its advanced technology and fearsome "Cosmic Guardians." However, resistance persists, and one of these Guardians, moved by human suffering, decides to rebel.

In this exciting context, our protagonist will venture into the mysterious temples of the Cosmic Sphere, facing powerful Guardians who jealously guard these enclaves. Each "Cosmic Guardian" represents a unique challenge that requires strategy and skill to overcome. The story unfolds as our protagonist progresses in their mission to deactivate the power sources that sustain the oppressive regime of the religion.

Game Mechanics:

The game revolves around the interaction of a projectile with the environment and various characters. This projectile is a ball that appears when the player hits it for the first time by aiming in a certain direction. The ball moves affected by gravity, bouncing off both the level's walls and various platforms. But here's the unique twist: both the player and enemies can interact with the projectile by hitting it before it collides with them, redirecting its trajectory and changing its "state." This state is visualized through the color of the ball, blue if the player was the last to hit it or red if it was an enemy. This "state" of the projectile determines whom it will damage if no one manages to hit it before it collides.
